I'm new here. Nice set up. I got tired of the othe "gun" forums. Too many know it all type people.

Here are some pictures of my customized Beretta 92F.
Work done: my reliability package, tuned trigger (smooth 10 lb. DA and 4 lb. SA trigger pull), Wolff springs, and thinned / recontoured grip panels with my stippling.

The custom grips that I made makes the Beretta feel more lively in the hand (compared to the stock panels).

I'm a man who can appreciate a nice tuned Beretta. Take a look at my LTT customized hard chromed 92:

The 92 is a very under-rated weapon, in my humble opinion. When properly cared for they can perform quite well.

Your pistol looks really nice! I love the chrome job! :) Do you have a link? For the Chrome job?

Thanks!

Ivory, ivory grips.

Only a cheap New Orleans pimp would have pearl grips.....

Nice looking 92 Ray.

I've always been able to shoot 92s really well for some reason. Just fits my hand well I think.

What's up with the barrel?

Thanks. I fitted another barrel on my 92F for a little bit more accuracy. Had it hard chromed for a different look .

Nice 92s. That shiny barrel is very cool.

Can we turn this into a Beretta Picture thread? :)

Cause I want to play too.

My Vertec "G", with my own trigger reduction by the use of a 1911 main spring, Crimson Trace grips and an Elite II hammer. I've had over 5000 rounds through this gun without a single malfunction.

Sam, thanks! Nice looking Vertec. :) Also, the 1911 mainspring in the Berettas - a good armorers trick to reduce the DA/SA trigger pull.

Ray T....did you thin a pair of stock grips? What did you use to modify them? Good job there!

Shame Ernest L. doesn't work on Berettas anymore.

I did thin out a pair of stock Beretta grips. It was an experiment for me. Since, I am doing custom work on a variety of guns.

I used my vari-speed motor tool, various grits of sandpaper, and elbow grease. :)

Thanks for the comments.

I reduced the frame and checkered mine, I wanted it to be somewhere between the 92fs and the vertec. The anodizing is much darker than in the picture, actually, it's the best I've ever seen.

I still need to get the slide and some small parts melonited.

Me too. I was thinking about picking up a G34, but I might have to detour into another Beretta.

Adam:
Nice work on the grip reduction on the 92 frame. Why doesn't gunsmiths offer this safety before? I love the feeling of the Vertec grip frame and think the standard 92 is a bit big. I have a Centurion G and I shoot it equally well as the Vertec but wish that the Centurion feel more in the hand like the Vertec, or that the Vertec has a slightly shorter barrel and minus the light rail to keep the weight down.

Your going to melonite (salt bath nitride) your slide and some parts huh?
That's what I was thinking of doing to my Beretta's when there finish wears a bit more.:)

Who are you planning on using and what's it going to be costing you if you don't mind saying, if you can?

Beretta should have locked up EL to a long term TGO like contract. He sold a lot of Berettas.

Sadly...in two very brief conversations with EL during SHOT 06 and 07, I realized that Beretta USA did not fully appreciate him and/or his talents in tuning up the 92/96-series guns.

BTW #2, both the Chief Operating Officer (Leland Nichols) and the VP for Marketing (Tom Taylor) of S&W both shot the match. Mr. Nichols even won a trophy for his performance! Nichols regularly shoots the local IDPA matches they hold at the S&W center, making him -- to the best of my knowledge -- the only gun company executive who mixes with the unwashed masses on a regular basis. Could it be that staying in touch with the shooting public on a personal level actually plays a role in Smith stealing market share from its competitors? Nah, couldn't be ...

It probably also has something to do with the vibe I get from S&W that they are interested in what their customers want, not just what they think they can sell.

I can't think of another handgun manufacturer currently going to so much trouble to be involved in the sport.

I wish that were true when it comes to the lock on their revolvers. It should at least be optional like on the M&Ps.

Thats easy, don't use the lock. They don't engage by themselves.

This could easily turn into a big topic on its on. I personally haven't seen it and believe a bigger deal is made of it than what needs to be, but its well documented on the S&WForum of several occasions where it has occured.

Wow, thanks for those very kind words, Sam.

BTW, just heard that a SIG employee had his P226 Elite DQ'd at the IDPA Indoor Nationals last week ... because it doesn't fit in "the box." :p

...

You're welcome Todd, that's just "my take" on those companies :) from an outside observer. People like you, EL and S-Dave inspired me to pick up the pizza guns and learn to shoot them. They're ultra reliable and more accurate than people realize.

That's ashame that the shooter was dq'd, but he should have checked his own gun before going to a major match. It never cease to amaze me that sponsored shooters get dq'd for stuff like that, i.e. missing power factor by 0.1, gun not fit in the box. There's no excuse.

Well back to the regularly scheduled program. Nice pizza guns everybody. Keep them coming.

That Beretta with the muzzle device looks like something that Robocop carried.
