View Full Version : CZ VZ58, less than 200 rds, 4 mags: $800...good deal?

A buddy got it about 3 years ago IIRC. He went down the black rifle path now and wants to clear the safe.

IIRC, it was straight from CZ-USA and not a Century build.

He has since swapped out stock and handguard and pinned flash hider.

Awaiting pics but am curious if $800 decent?

sounds like a pretty good deal and if its a cz-usa version....is it more like a heavy bluish gray in color? if so then you got a keeper as the vz58s in this color were produced in limited quantaties compared to the black versions. purchsed my cz-usa vz58 from jg sales about 4 years ago

I love my Vz58. Great rifle. Just ordered an SBR 7.5" version in .223!

Unlike the AK the Vz58 has a last round hold open :D

I'm going to get one as well to SBR. It was my understanding that it wouldn't be available until Q2.


I love my Vz58. Great rifle. Just ordered an SBR 7.5" version in .223!

Unlike the AK the Vz58 has a last round hold open :D

I have never owned a VZ58 and I am new to the AK world but I can tell you shooting one is a hell of a lot of fun, especially when it is full auto.

Have you shot it? That IS a decent deal with 2 extra mags worth about $35 shipped.

I ask about shooting, because for ME, and the fixed stock, I get a bunch of cheek slap. The inclined shape of the stock and the rise and momentum of the recoil nails my cheekbone. This is much less with the standard folder which is a decent setup.

m4brian, I seen people get some pretty nasty cheek slap when using an AK style slant brake.

Most of the guys I know don't find it to be a problem after jumping to something like this:
