I would like to sell my Springfield M1A Scout (walnut) at a gun show this weekend. I have only cycled 100 rounds through it. Additionally, I have 4 (20rd) factory mags to go with it. How much do you guys think I should try to get for it? I checked out Gun Broker, but the price variances made me want to ask the forum.

I would like to procure an LMT MWS. The M1A just collects dust, but I don’t want to get hosed selling it.

Thanks for the help

In the Midwest, used M1A Scouts bring $1300-$1400. With the magazines you can add another $75.

Thanks 7 Ring,

I'll say 1450 package deal and hopefully leave with 1350. Its been a long time since I have attended any gun shows..They're always full of interesting characters...

I don't think you will have any problems selling it.

You'd be better off selling it on GunBroker directly to the buyer (it would have to be shipped to an FFL of course). Adding a middleman to the equation will only cost you money.

It will sell for $1450 in this market. That is a very fair price IMO.

I say that because I just send my money off to a gentleman for the exact same package for $1500 shipped. He had already made the deal with me but was getting offers that were $500 more.

Due to recent events, the prices on military style rifles has gone up.

I sold a M1A standard with a SA muzzle brake, Schuster adjustable gas plug, 2 stocks, 4 mags, a leather sling, gas cylinder wrench and bolt roller greaser a few days ago for $1700. Your rifle should easily bring $1500 +.

I didn't make it to the gun show last weekend, but I placed the rifle on Gun Broker last Sunday. The current bid is $2025. I wanted to try an LMT MWS, but I'm not very optimistic about that coming to fruition.

In the crazyness of what is going on $2k for a M14 type rifle is a good deal. LMT MWS is closer to $4k right now.

I went to a show in houston on Saturday just to view the madness. The prices had more than doubled on every type of AR. I don't blame the dealers for inflating their prices. People should have realized in 2008 that these were the good old days. I am so glad I did. Glad I stocked up.
