Can G22 mags be converted to G17 mags and if so, will they be reliable and trust worthy? I have the opportunity to buy some preban G22 mags that are drop free at a good price but I don't shoot .40. If they can't be converted I don't need them.

The feed lips are different so, no.

If they're a great price get them and maybe someone will trade you for them.

While it is true that the feed lips are different, many have used them with 9mm. Many people tested it in the ban years with things like using 10 round glock 23 mags in 19's. They would get 13 rounds that way. Very little personal experience in that regard but the people who did do (on various forums) said it worked fine.

I have mistakenly loaded up a 22 mag with 9mm and used it in my 17 in the past. It worked just fine and only after doing it a few times did I notice what I did. Wouldn't be something I would rely on though.

Would be fine for training, however it can cause issues, have used .40 glock mags in a 9mm Glock and would get some issues, mainly FTFs, though I would also on occasion when doing reloads have a round pop out of the mag and eject out of the gun while it fed the next round, was weird, but for training purposes it worked just fine.
