The "82" marking on a Glock is the Austrian military designation for what we know of as the Glock 17.
No other model markings will appear.
Left side of the slide:
Glock 82 9mm Glock Austria
Right side will have a 5 digit number with two letters, a hyphen, and 3 numbers.
The one that appears on page 221 of Ezell's "Small Arms of the World", 12th Edition, is marked AA-000.
Amazing, you learn something every day. From a collection standpoint, would be nice to have one!
Hopefully Joe can get us pictures or a serial number prefix because I'd like to try and buy it :D

Its in as new condition. And since it was a gift, I don,t plan on selling it.

Hate to dispell this, but the official military designation here is "P80".

It was purchased in Europe by a member of the U.S. Army and imported by that serviceman after ATF approval. I will post some pictures as soon as I can figure out the procedures.
