I 've read the discussions on 6920 vs 6721, the question I have is what is the best or most accurate twist rate for 55gr nosler ballistic tip (factory loads). This is what I think will primarly be using for ground hogs and coyote. The 6920 sounds great with the weight, but if 55gr don't do well with 1:7 twist do I go with the 6721. If the 6920 gives me great accuracy with 55gr and a allows me to shoot heaver bullets fantastic! Thanks

I use the 55gr Noslers, VMAX, and BlitzKing for varmints. They're best in my 1/12s, fine in the 1/9s, and fine at short(er) ranges in the 1/7s.

Tighter twist is suboptimal, but not unserviceable. If you don't need distance, don't worry about it.

i shoot 55 grain out of my 1 in 7 cmmg all the time. out to 100 yards i get 2.5" groups with irons. i'm a crappy shot. so... i'd say it's fine accuracy for for a service carbine.

i'd be interested if anyone ahs done any more scientific study on 200+ yard shooting with 1 in7/55gr.

from what i understand 75 grain is the way to go for longer range AR shooting.

It is my opinion that a GStab of 1.4-1.6 is optimal. This will stabalize a projectile down to well below 0*F and after you stabalize a projectile, that is all. There is no "it needs to be UBER stable". All that does is prevent the projectile nose from following the correct arc at longer ranges and it adoptes an aerodynamically poor (and conducive to erratic accuracy) nose-high attitude. Also, reguardless of how well a projectile is made, it will never be PERFECTLY balanced. Any imbalance is bad. Higher GStab only exacerbates the issue.
