Cheaper Than Dirt leads the way with the 2013 price explosion.
Anyone know what this was selling for a week or two ago? Now it $900 for 1k rds of M855.

I was in a CTD retail store the day CT went down - before I'd even heard. The same stuff was $499/k.
They say they're separate companies, but there's a lot of overlap in product.

On cheaper than dirt pmags went to $30 (for 1 pmag) after presidents speech, now they are $60 (for 1 pmag). At that rate they should be selling 1k of m855 for $1600, so $900 is a steal!

More power to them? I wouldn't fault a company for making money but I wouldn't congratulate them for doubling their price because of a national tragedy.

they did the same thing in 2008 leading up to and after the election. Needless to say they haven't seen any of my money since around 2003.
They are selling PMC 55gr FMJ Bronze for more than Hornady 75gr TAP.
Bronze IS the new TAP! :p...

Agree with you.
IMHO, depending on how this whole situation plays out in regards to future legislation, restrictions and added taxes,etc., it will no doubt put some businesses out of business, put more people in the unemployment line, and shrink the bottom line of the businesses that remain in business.

I attended a gun show in Houston on Sunday looking to pick up some additional ammo since I expected it would get scarce and expensive quickly. The prices for Federal XM193 ranged from $270 - $300 for 500 rounds. After the show I drove to a local shop and picked up 500 for $199. I may drop by today to see if they have any left.

I've got about a hundred of the Gen 2 Pmags in storage here at the ranch. I wonder how well polymer holds up to long term storage? They're still in their original wrapping, and are kept in a dry place with no sunlight.

I believe that as long they are in a place where there is not humidity and high or very low temperatures I think you should be fine, they should hold up a long time.
Businesses are folding like crazy on this issue. I ordered 100 pmags last week from ineedmoregear. They sent me an update saying, "being stocked, will ship in 1-2 days.
We shall see. I came in just before the crazies went crazy, and I still might be too late. Im worried. I never stock piled mags.
What else is exploding in price outside of CTD sales?
Renaming CTD to "Slightly Cheaper than Gold" would be a little more accurate..

I just went to my LGS looking for ammo and a few cleaning supplies. I watched 5 different guys pay $1200 each for Bushmaster AR's.
Last week I bought a new Colt LE6720MP, from a different dealer, for less than that.
Pmags were $29.95 and selling out quickly.
California is selling out of just about everything. One of our local websites, calegalmags.com has shut down their website until further notice because of no inventory. Definitely something to be said for purchasing parts and ammunition over the last couple years.
Now if CA can settle down politically and not mess with laws regarding our bullet buttons.
Brownells has/had a 10 pack for $125 shipped, I grabbed a few the other day.
I certainly hope that the gun community doesn't forget this too easily ... not that I have ever ordered from CTD anyway. :nono:

I've been calling them "Cheaper Than Diamonds" ever since they jacked up the price of the 1K round bulk box of M855 to $500 earlier this year. I had bought ammo from them before that, but at that point, I stopped even checking their site. Now I won't ever give them any of my business anymore under any circumstances.

Bought a few gen two Pmags yesterday at my local gun shop. He had about 100 stacked on a table in the middle of the store. Said he had sold about 100 the day before and that was all he had left. As I made my purchase, we joked about price gouging. He admitted he raised the price from $12.99 to $14.99! Minor increase due to demand. But even today, the few he had left are $14.99. A bit more expensive than last week, but still a reasonable price...
We aren't going to have 5 million look at the prices threads.
