So I have 2 new M&P9c's (HAMXXXX and HALXXXX) and on both of them and with all 4 magazines the follower will go above the tab on the slidestop assembly designed to interact with the follower. This causes the magazine to not release freely.
Has anybody ever had this happen or know if S&W changed their follower or slide stop assembly recently?
The previous M&P's I had did not do this.

Did you call Smith and Wesson and ask them? It is probably out of spec.

Yeah they just said send it in. Which I'm going to do.
But with 2 pistols and 4 mags I'm more inclined to think "design upgrade" instead of the chance that all mags or both pistols are out of spec.
I've dealt with their CS before and it's been great, but I just like to the cause. I will say that 2 new pistols not functioning correctly does not really make me happy.

do your followers have the number 9 stamped into the top?

Yep, for all that I could find they are the newer followers. Stamped 9
I'm suspect of the slidestop assembly, the tab on it that interfaces with the follower on empty seems shorter than the ones that were on the .40's that I traded.
I'm curious if they changed it to prevent some of the early lock backs I've heard about.
