Aimpioin advise

I have been going the cheaper rout on red dot systems but I really want a aim point there are several different models but it gets confusing like the difference between CompM3 and Comp ML3 or even a Comp M4. Whichever I get I want to eventually get a 3X multiplier that flips to the side.
[?]any advice would be great

I would like to spend under $500. I can add the 3x later, it would be used for CQC at under 50 yards and later once I add the 3x probably 100 yards or farther
