I've built 4 rifles, here's my latest. Double Star lower, Vltor upper with lots of Magpul parts. Topped off with a Vortex Strike fire. She's pretty basic, but I'm happy with her.

Good work! How do you like the strike fire? I will probably be on the market soon for a low-cost training red dot

What type of barrel, what made you decide on those parts?

I've got a friend who had a bunch of parts he wanted to sell at a price I couldn't say no to. Can't beat the Strikefire for the price. I doubt it would hold up in Afghanistan, but I'm not going there anytime soon so it works for regular use. I like the red/green dot option.

That doesn't look like a Vltor upper. (Unless they make standard ones in addition to the MUR)

Vltor makes a forged as well as their billet MUR upper receivers.

They're not badly priced either at around $140 complete.

VLTOR's MUR is NOT a piece of shit Billet. It's a REAL forging.

Ok ok ok... you're right.

Forged.. then machined.

Early MURs were billet

I think the prototypes were. I don't remember Vltor mentioning any production models. But maybe they want to put that behind them. :p

Pretty sure this is correct.
