I would like to know what the "first round feature" is in the FNH SLP semi-auto shotgun that is mentioned in this 2003 The High Road Winchester SX2 thread (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=5151):

They look the same. They should. FN, Browning and Winchester are all owned by the same holding co. The features are slightly different. The FN gun has the Browning first round load feature that the Winchester doesn't have. Don't know what other differences there may be.

I'm guessing it's like the "Speed Load" feature on Auto-5s made after 1955. If the gun is empty/bolt locked open, and you thumb a shell into the magazine, it will be picked up and fed into the chamber and the bolt will close.

I didn't realize the FN SLP had that. I saw one in a shop recently, and asked about that, but the owner didn't know since it just came in, was the first one he had got, and he had not looked it over yet.
