Somehow this didn't make it to the mainstream media.
obama issued an executive order to implement pay increases for federal employees including the V.P., Senate, House, and Judicial segments.

Did anyone see any compelling productivity this year that would justify the increases? Interesting timing on this as it looks like taxes may be going up along with increased healthcare costs due to obamacare.

Oh wait, federal employees are not affected by obamacare.

By the last estimate I saw, 261 members of Congress are millionaires. That's 47% of Congress. As for the rest of us, about 1% of U.S. citizens are worth a million bucks.

These feckless pricks ain't in it for the paycheck. The real money is being made on the down low.

It seems the pay raises are between $300-500 on the GS schedule which is the vast majority of federal employees, and the senior executive service seems to have increased by $700-1000 overall.

Keep in mind that federal government pay has been frozen since 2010 and these are increases in their annual pay. It averages out to between $100 and $333 per year.

Kinda like how members of Congress are exempt from insider trading laws?

I believe that Congress passed laws recently that now say that they cannot do so.

EO are supposed to be at the approval of Congress... this is Obama's way getting society used to over reaching EO activity. Then when he uses illegally for a weapons ban or regulation it will seem normal or of no consequence to his voter base.

This. Your average GS worker isn't really overpaid, and they haven't gotten ANYTHING in 2 years. Add to that, the constant stress of wondering if the idiots on the Hill are going to pass a budget or if there will be unpaid furloughs of people who, like most of us, have mortgages, rent, car payments, etc etc. The average GS worker isn't the problem. It's the idiots we elect, and the idiots that those idiots appoint, that are the source of our issues.

Magical wish genie getting his dictator on. Mob rule indeed. All it takes is 25k signatures to get your handout from the piggybank, so long as Santa approves of your redistributive efforts. Step right up!
