i just bought a colt m4 .223...also new to the art of gunmanship ...so cut me some slack folks......i wanted your input on a specific application....on the top pitanany rail where the scope goes i installed a tri riser i wanted to put a scope on the top vertical and a red dot on the side.. ,,of course the red dot would be setting horizontal and a little lower of the scope,,, just wondering has anyone done this setup ...scope for long range and red dot for fast aiming short range

Get rid of the tri-rail riser and get a real scope mount with an offset red dot.
