View Full Version : 308 AR wait times
Are there any of the Teir 1 308 ARs that do not have a years waiting list? Not talking about this crazy panic crap but just a normal order one from the factory that wont take forever to get it.

If you have the scratch get the SR-25.
Well worth the price to ride that pony!
(just make sure you budget for glass good enough to compliment it.)
I'm waiting for the panic buying to subside. ....hopefully in a few months, this will be viewed as panic buying.

I was reading on Sniper's Hide how LaRue was at 12 months or so in build time and not taking new orders.
I'm going to get something in the line of the SR/LaRue/LMT vein.

I put my M-14 (M1A) in a Troy chassis. It's heavy but it, damn sure, works.
They are no longer taking dealer orders either.
If you are interested in a OBR 762 i could give you the number to a shop local to me. You could purchase and have sent to your ffl. They ordered last year before the craziness. The back order was 5-6 months in November. They ordered 7 i got number 6 yesterday.
They ordered them with the ctr, risr, surefire break, and the larue pod. Price was 37xx.xx. The wait would be a little longer than an sr 25. Plus i live in the communist republic of California so if your in a free state you would have to deal with removing the bullet button.
I have wanted one for a while. Went into a local shop, and the sales guy i deal with new i had been looking for the OBR or predatAR. I jumped on it. I only put ten percent down in case something happens, and i can not take delivery.
If your at all interested i can give you the number so you could at least talk to them. They would not budge on the price. They said there was a minimal mark up. Which seems right base price is 3370.00.
I do not work for the shop or get anything from giving out there name and number. Just if someone is interested it might be a while before they take new orders. They are 20". I wish 16" but i can not be that picky right now.

I'm curious what the lead time is on a GAP 10 (I actually sent GA Precision a message regarding this, I'll repost if/when I hear for sure).

Sorry to hijack the thread, you can respond via email or PM if that is better. Is 30-60 to dealers? I can assume dealers have a backorder longer than that now right? I really want one of these, if you can help a member out on a lead to one with decent pricing.
Thanks

Local gun store had two black rain .308 guns, one with ugly skulls and one black, both over $4k
Local gun store in Bellevue, WA had a Scar17s for $4700.

Rediculus .....
SCAR 17 mags make we wanna puke. $200 on GB
If you really want to find a 308 AR... you can find one. Several places have lowers/uppers in stock or for a very short lead time, and barrels etc are not difficult to find. In fact, the toughest part to scrounge up would be a BCG and some 20-rd 308 Pmags.
I personally don't think this rush will last much longer than a few months. I heard some dude talking about buying up a bunch of Pmags for inflated $$$ and HE DIDN'T EVEN OWN AN AR. I don't see how this is sustainable.
You know what's ridiculous? A Larue 7.62 Predatar selling at the local gun store for $5,999.99 when it was selling for half that last month!
That is UNREAL. I never thought I would see prices like that for a rifle that is not some sort of full-auto NFA deal. Wild times we are in. It is too bad manufacturers don't have more capacity to respond to demand.
5.56 OBR for $3999 at the LGS in Bellevue.
Sounds like West Coast Armory

Wasn't there a fire at their factory that Manufacture's the 17?
There appears to be a new S&W M&P10 on the market... now sure when it will be available.. but it's out there..

Didn't hear about that, but there have been some strikes / labor issues at FN.
