Does anyone know for sure (not probably or should work) if you can use a Gen 3 9mm barrel in a Gen 4 pistol . I believe the only difference in the barrels is the cut out for the different RSA's rear diameter. I heard the answer from Glock is no. I don't believe the Gen 4 RSA would sit level when in place and might lower the pistols reliability. The only factory threaded barrels for the G17 and G19 that I know of are Gen 3 barrels.

KKM's email told me theirs are interchangeable.

I use a factory threaded 19 barrel in my G4 19. It works fine.

The current Glock Armorer's course and manual state that the barrel is one of the "parts that should NOT be casually interchanged with the same parts in the Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 pistols." It specifically calls out the beveled Gen 4 barrel's bottom lugs.

Bringing back an old thread instead of making a new one, I am hearing very mixed reports of whether or not you can use the Gen 3 threaded barrel in a Gen 4 Glock, what's the latest?

Glock's current Parts List/Will-Fit/Order Form for certified armorers only lists a single barrel part number for the G17, with no denotation of Gen3 or Gen4 only. Same with the G19, except for a different barrel part number slides produced prior to CHP (I assume that is a s/n prefix?).

I would like to know the answer to this as well.

Yes that is a S/N prefix. If you look at the armorers form there are no 9mm threaded barrels available correct?

I see none.

Gen 3 barrels will work in a Gen 4.
