I recently purchased a FN SLP and would like to add a side saddle shell carrier to it. It seems like ther are few options, if any, for the FN/ Super X2 out there. I would prefer a receiver mount but if a buttstock is the only option I'll drill holes I guess.

I recommend the 3gungear.com elastic side saddle 8 shot for a shotgun.

Dillon sells them for $24 it fits Beneli M1, M2, M4; Win. SX2; FN SLP. It sticks on with heavy tape to the receiver but you can remove the side saddle as well as it's velco.

GotM4, thanks for your reply. I have looked at the 3 Gun Gear stuff in Dillon's catalog and the price seems right but I am leery of the elastic loops and the tape application to the receiver. Long term what will the adhesive do to the finish and how long do the shell loops hold up. Any more insight would be much appreciated.

I don't think anyone else makes a side saddle for a SX2/Browning Gold or FN SLP.

I just got my 3gungear stuff, but I know about a dozen people (much better 3gunners than me who shoot shotgun a whole bunch more than me too) who've been using 3gungear.com stuff for a few years w/o problems so on their recommendations I'm giving their stuff a try too (it's cheap so I said WTH). On my shotgun I'm not too worried about the finish. My shotgun is an old (way old) HK marked Benelli M1 (a beater I got on a trade that has quite a bit of 'character'). Acetone would remove any glue remaining if I were to remove it if it doesn't workout for me. BTW The elastic is VERY strong much higher quality than those Uncles Mikes loops for rifle/shotgun shells for stocks.

Thanks again for the quick reply and advice. Nice picks of your HK, nice to see what the product really looks like. Every time I call Dillon it gets expensive but I would like to get this gun squared away. Maybe a new quick change in .38 for my 650 as well and whatever else catches my eye. My 24 dollar side saddle is going to end up costing 300 bucks.

TacStar makes one that works well. Its marked for Brownong Gold and its basically the same receiver.
Have one on my SLP and it works just fine. Has plastic loops.
