I finally found a few online. But they were not the pmag 211 type, these have a part number of SM5P301 . Does anyone know of these type? Any good? , must be older type. Thanks for any help.

From what I gathered, that's the regular 30 round Pmag.

If so, then yeah. They're very reliable.

On the left side of the magazine below the indentation for the mag catch is a small circular dial molded into the mag. It has a small arrow pointing to a number 1-12 which represents the month of production. On either side of the arrow will be a number like 09 or 10 or 11, etc. representing the year it was made. That should help pin down if it is a Gen 1 or Gen 2 Pmag.

Either way it's rare that Magpul would put out unreliable products to begin with. They do however make product improvements above and beyond their baseline level of quality control. I would just load them up and start shooting them.

No, they are the only PMags not worth buying.

This. If you did end up buying them, please send them to me for proper disposal. Would hate for them to get mixed in with Tier 1 mags. I'll even split the shipping cost with you, just to help you out.

When were they made, and are there any identifying features if not in the wrapper?

ive used quite a few pmags for fun and for business and i would say you cant go wrong with any model they make.

That is incorrect. The date wheel has the month and year info. The other number you are looking at has to do with other data.

I stand corrected then but wouldn't knowing the month and year determine if it was an original or earlier production run of Pmags or if they were later upgraded versions? Going back to the OP's question concerning the Mfg # SM5P301. Is this a discontinued production run of Pmags? Was there any reliability concerns associated with this model?

M-Rev production began in early 2009. Chances are the magazine in question is an M-Rev.
