HANDLOADS.com, they have tons of good loads to choose from, also listing start loads, max, loads, pressure in some loads, and velocity. just be careful to fallow the work up rules of hand loading, and i think you will find a load that suits your way of shooting

Reloader 15 and Varget are good powder to start with.
Lake City uses a proprietary version of RL15 to make the M118 long range sniper ammunition.

A very traditional Bench Rest load over the years has been:

44.5 gns. WW 748 Ball Powder
Federal Large Rifle Primers
Norma Brass (Most consistent in weight and case wall thickness)
Sierra 168 Gn. BTHP Match King

I have consistently shot .3" 5 shot groups with this load out of 3 different factory Remington 700 Varmint Rifles.

IMR 4895 @ 43.6 Duplicate Federal Gold Medal Match round
168 MK

IMR 4064 @ 43.5
168 MK

Fed 210M primer
FC Cases

For hunting same load but use Sierra 165 BTHP.

I have yet to make a load for my 308 that doesn't shoot good. I am finding the best luck with neck sized Winchester cases, Sierra 175 grain matchkings, H4895 (find your own load here), and federal 210M primers. I also had good luck with the same bullet and AA2520, AA2460, IMR4064, and even BLC2. Varget shot good but it was dirty as hell. 210M primers seem to work nicer and shoot cleaner too, I was originally using CCI.

Hornady 168 BTHP match in front of 42 gr of RE15 comes in at .5 MOA out of my LR 308 using an 18" Krieger SS match barrel.

Varget 44.5 gr. / Win brass / CCI BR primers / 178 gr. A-Max / = 2700 fps out of a 26" tube.
