What BUIS do you have personal experience with? Would you recommend it? why?

Looking for BUIS for an LMT MWS.

Thx

What are you looking for, Fixed or folding?

I've always been partial to TROY BUIS, but the DD fixed is more that good enuff for a fixed.

OP there are many threads on this very topic. Please use the orange search button.

But for the record I highly recommend KAC.

If your at long range and your optic fails, I'd say de-ass the area. BUIS are for up close and personal when your optic fails.

Just my 2 cents.

What is the maximum range you could realistically engage a man sized target with BUIS and have a reasonable hit percentage? Obviously the shooter is the biggest variable but I'd guess beyond 200 or 300 yards depending on your eyesight, hit percentage would likely decline precipitously against a moving target. Maybe not even that far...

For 300 yd, I just got the 300m knights micro site. Long range I'd get the 600m but I don't think I'll ever shoot past 3 with irons. Any good iron site gets you to 300, it's standard range.

Troys are well liked around here, and a lot of people use the mbus and sAve $60.

ok, im not very experienced with irons (adjustable), what advantage do they offer within 300yds? Multiple zeros?

For 300yd, the Troy's are fine - it's when you're working past that that the KAC 200-600m models are worth the money. A 300yd zero with fixed irons works pretty well anyway, so you don't need long range type BUIS in that case.
