I have both, but am not well versed in either.
Just at basic fam level.
I have clips for the Garand, but not the right strippers for the FN. If only the FN had been a DBM, it would have been as old school cool as a BAR.
Anyways,
Both are wonderfully built, and the same caliber.
If any of you have serious time behind both,
and some insight, tips, or info,
please fill me in. Thank you.
Current ammo costs and availability, coupled with a desire to hoard, have me pulling the Garand, FN49,
as well as a Mauser, SMLE, and Mosin Nagant out of the safes for budget fun without having to go rimfire.
7.62x54R has always been a bargain, but never thought I would see pullin '06 out and considering it a bargain compared to dipping into the 5.56 stash.
