I am having the same problem locating any in stock. Finally broke down and bought 52 gr bthp match bullets. It sad that i can reload match grade ammo with overpriced commercial powder for one third the price of m193 these days.

Found tons of it today. The X 193 55 grain FMJ.

.50 a round at one place here and one place local has 1000 round cases for $547. He had 4 of those cases today and lots of loose boxes.

PM me.

Were talking about projos for reloading dude. But i will revise my cost estimation of my reloads to almost half the cost of factory m193 in light of your discovery. Thanks for the heads up.

sorry. Thought you were asking where to find 55 fmj loaded.

Around here 50c per round is a steal. If your lucky you can find somebody unloading some crap ammo for 60c per round, and you can forget about any decent ammo for less than 70 if its available at all . I got into reloading so i could get around the glut only to find the same thing happening with bullets. Oh well.

1/2? Im loading 55gr fmjs for about .17 per thats just about a third what they are going for now. :( Prices are getting crazy I am so thankful I started reloading this year I was going to spend the money on a Spectre and glad I did not.

Ahh no thanks. Reloading section, not want to buy. 54 cent a round is foolish.

55s are the first thing to disappear when the idiot masses flip out.

My buddy dropped by with a thousand LC 55s 2 nights ago that he bought of another guy who is tin foil city.

1k of 55s never looked so good to me.:)

Keep looking online. There are several forums that have forsale sections. Yes they are pricey because of everyone gouging or just want to take advantage of the sitution.

Midway had 55gr HP for sale last night, in 100 and 500 instock, the 500 was about $60 shipped.. I picked them up for just range fodder. By the time I get them loaded and shot most of the panic buying will be done and I can get back to my regular suppliers at regular price.

Yup ... Midway sent me an "in stock notice" yesterday for 69gr Nosler HPBT Custom Competition ... on sale even. $155 per 1000. Picked some up. They still have boxes of 250 and 1000 count in stock.

If you sign up for their alerts, you should be BTG ... and I haven't noticed their prices going up at all.

Thanks for the heads up... I ordered 1000. I like Nolsers for my bolt gun, they are actually my preference and that price is really good. Especially the state of the market these days. That case of 1000 will get me through F-class competition and my long range round needs for 3-gun for the next year.

I had the 77 gr Noslers CCs on back-order at Midway and that one popped as well, (also at $155/k - both sale and dealer price). Received them Friday.

Braved the lines and craziness to hit up a gun show yesterday, gladd I got there early. Scored 1800 Fed 55gr fmj for $185.

People were getting crazy money for any .223/5.56 ammo. My brother sold a case of .223 ball for $575. Used that to buy a new Dillon xl650 reloader.

I'm still all butt hurt. I had 1k for 90bucks at midway. Backorder date went from 1/9/13 to 1/14/14! I've tried to call to find out if I'm getting them before I age another year or what. When I ordered them they were backorderable and shipping on the 9th.

Put some on backorder or request email notification.

I put some Hornady 55s on back-order at Midway to lock in the price. They will get here in due course.

In the mean time, to save my mo' better Hornadys, I've dug under the reloading bench for stuff I put back as "OK", but not up to the same quality standards (for me). 1st up is a big bag of Montana Gold 55s - just fine for CQB Drills and not bad for general except for the POI difference. Loaded a bunch yesterday in secondary brass (crimped Federal that I almost tossed) with the 1050 in blaster mode. Then I have a case of 2006 vintage WW 64s, etc., etc.

Some of my backorders from after Christmas have already hit. The one that blows my mind was 2 FDE SCAR-17 mags I put on at Brownells - they shipped. :D

I've watched the expected in-stock date for the Hornady 55s at Midway go from 12/26/2012 to 01/15/2014. I have my backorder in at least. Now even the junk 55s there are gone. I managed to get some new Federal M193 projectiles from Pat's Reloading but he's out of everything now too. He does have some M856 projectiles for $94/1k. Might resort to those haha...

My 500 Get Loaded promo 55gr soft points shipped from Hornady today though, I was surprised...

Right now I'll load up just about anything I can get my hands on for sub 100m range sessions.

sigh... used to get all the .223 brass i could ever use from BrassMan Brass AND they sold Amscor bullets at great prices. all gone! i posted a new thread today wondering if the big ammo makers are "reserving" components to make new ammo at a higher profit than the profit made by selling compo's to reloaders?

Thanks ,I signed up for the notices. My midway shipment got pushed back again.

Even when doofus got elected the first time the panic wasn't this bad. This has really limited my training. My fall back has always been to 22lr, with only 5k on hand and none to buy I'm rationing that. Bought my 9 yr old a 597 for Christmas, he's learning sloooooow shots with lots of pausing. :secret:

It's kinda nuts out at the area we shoot. It rained last weekend, but the weekend before it was perfect shooting weather and almost NO ONE was out.

I think people are reluctant to shoot the ammo they have.
We're going out tomorrow. I'm intersted to see what the turnout is, because the weather is perfect for shooting again.

I'm going tomorrow. Just a few rounds of 308, maybe 2 mags of 5.56 a couple 45's and that's it. My wife is going, I told her every squeeze of the trigger in her AR is a buck fiddy retail.

Ammo prices and availability are keeping the blasters, ammo wasters, and range clowns away. The more dedicated and deliberate shooters, those who plan ahead and/or reload, and those not shooting service calibers, are still shooting.

I totally agree... I'm a qualified IDPA SO / NRA RSO at my club, volunteer hours on the range as work credit to my membership dues and we have seen a steady decline in regular repeat public shooting attendance. There has been an increase in the number of first time shooters that have just bought new guns to try out and sight in the first time.

There's no doubt about that. It's kind of nice not shooting with some retards ricocheting bullets over us. The silver lining of the panic frenzy. :sarcastic:

Yes, some of us won't miss a beat - but the young guys/gals (especially those in the service or just out) are still getting ****ed over. No excuse for this. Everyone did not have a chance or the financial ability to build some inventory. There is no excuse for this horseshit - let's see some payback at the next election.
