Anybody know where I might find a .38 Spl, 5 shot, fluted, titanium cylinder assembly? Numarich is out and my 442 is in need of a new cylinder!

Did you check with S&W? Also, Jack First Gun Parts is a good source.

Can you simply swap out the cylinders?

The S&W 442 has a steel cylinder, not titanium.

The discontinued 342 model in .38 special had a titanium cylinder. Maybe Smith & wesson still has a few spare cylinders

The S&W 340PD in .357 magnum is probably the only J-frame still made by S&W with a titanium cylinder. I don't know if the 340PD cylinder would fit in a 442. The 340PD cylinder is probably longer

if money is not an issue, stop skipping and jump all the way to the s&w 327 ti cylinder performance center snubby 8 shot. 8 rounds of .38spl +p is just as heart stopping! ;) i owned one for a year but had to sell her for a trip and now regret my decision everyday.

Yeah, I was shopping for a BMW 3 series, but I think I'll go ahead and get a Ford F550 instead.......

S&W model 337 can still be found on the used market at a decent price and is one of the best carry a lot and shoot with target wadcutters revolvers out there.
