First I want to thank everyone who gave me advise in my other Threads ("In the Market for a Precision Rifle"and "Precision Rifle Cleaning Kit").
Everyone on this site (and a few sniper buddies) gave me some good input.
Thanks to George at GAP for getting me this rifle in the one month time frame I was working with.
Here is what it is;
- Trued Remington 700 Action ).308/7.62)
- 18" Bartlein stainless 5R barrel / 1/11 twist
- AICS 2.0 Folder (Green)
- Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10X40 Illuminated TMR
- Badger 20moa Base
- Badger Rings
- Vortex Flash Hider
- Thread Protector
- 3 Five Round AI mags (more on the way)
- SSG Bolt Knob
- Tuned Remington Trigger (have not measured the poundage yet)
- Weapon was CeraKoted in Coyote Brown/FDE

Accessories:
- Eagle MultiCam Drag bag
- T.I.S. Sling
- Leica CRF 1200 LRF

Cleaning Gear:
- Otis Sniper Kit (7.62, 5.56, 9mm, .45)
- Dewey Nylon Coated Rod
- Dewey Jags
- Dewey Patchs

The rifle length with the stock folded is 31.5". The barrel is threaded for a Gemtech or any Can with same threads. Still waiting on more Mags, Dewey "No Harm" brushes, and a Lucas Bore Guide. I'll get a Can next year.

If anyone has any more advice as far as what to get let me know. I'm already enrolled in the GPS Warfighter Sniper Course in March so that takes care of the training part.
Thanks again,
Dave

I have no useful information to contribute, but I will congratulate you on an absolutely magnificent rifle. :D

GAP certainly does top-notch work. That's beautiful!

Broke in the barrel today.
11th, 12th, and 13th shot at 100 yard target using 168gr. Federal Premium BTHP(off the shelf from Gander Mtn.).
The 3 shot group measured .539 inches from center to center.
George built a Damn good Rifle- I would recommend GAP to anyone.

Nice stick dude,
i own a Rock and one of his AR10's, both one holers when i havent drank too much coffee. My boltgun broke in right at the 12 round mark as well. Mine has actually gotten more accurate since then. Around the 350 round mark my groups tightened up to about 1/4 MOA, pretty interesting.

I would give my middle nut for it.

You have a middle nut?

Very nice rifle!! Let us know how the Sniper Course is after you take it.

BTW, have you noticed any feeding problems with those magazines and base?

The course is going great. I had 1st round hits at 550 yards today. The rifle is shooting better than expected- stll holding around 1/2 moa.
I only had one problem with the mag but I didn't have time to diagnose the problem- the AICS mags have been 99% reliable so far.
I'll keep the updates coming on rifle performance and I'll probably do a writeup on the school (in the training forum) when I finish next week.

Dave,
i dont know if you hunt or not but i forgot to mention that the winchester/nosler combined technology 168 Gr ballistic silvertips are just as accurate as 175 SMK's in my stick and follow my match round dope very closely out to 600 meters. Great deer load, not recommended for Elk but i have whacked a few bulls with them as well.

Just FYI in case you are looking for a good hunting load.
