While reading through another article I noticed this powerpoint as presented by NSWC in 2003 in regards to the CQBR upper receiver.

Notice slides 19 and 20. It appears that after 10k rounds a "dirty gun" has less muzzle velocity loss than a clean gun... about 100fps difference. Thoughts?

Maybe residual gunpowder that gets left behind from shooting gets burned in subsequent shots.

That is interesting. Too bad they didn't talk about the cleaning schedules.

This is reminiscent of the LuckyGunner test.
