Finally got my Alpha Industries mags for my Ruger GSR. It really makes the rifle look even better in my opinion! What do you think?

I'll be getting some for mine in a couple of weeks. I just picked up my GSR today. Steel, what kind of scope are you running on your rifle? I can see that it is a Leupold, but what model is it?

It's a Leupold FX-II 2.5x28mm scout scope.

Nice rifle. How do you like the Battlecomp?

I like it a lot. It does what it is suppose to do and does it well.

I got some of these for my dads rifle. I'm pretty anxious to see how they work.

How is the noise and concussion compared to the stock? The stock flash hider doesn't seem loud from behind the gun. However, I have had people down the shooting line comment on the noise.

I haven't noticed much difference myself from behind the gun. Recoil seems very light for a .308 compared to my buddys Savage .308 sniper rifle. I haven't been beside it when somebody else is firing it and don't plan to be.

Source for those Alpha Mags.? I'd like to hear how they work in the GSR.

The word is they're GTG.

I was hoping they'd be less pricy compared to the Ruger brand.

It looks like that optic is mounted to far forward to get a proper eye relief. Do you have to look for certain optics to mount on that rifle?

I really like that rifle. When I go to get a bolt gun it will be something to look at.

What type of accuracy does it get at various ranges? I'm thinking what would I gain from going to a 700 heavy barrel?

Mine shoots a little over 1MOA at 100 yards with 7.62x51mm Winchester white box 147gr. Best groups I have seen from a Ruger GSR were 0.69" at 100 yards with Buffalo Bore sniper 175gr. The idea behind this rifle wasn't for it to be a tack driving sniper rifle.

Nope, but they are different from the plastic mags; the rounds are staggered, which results in a shorter overall length magazine. http://gunsumerreports.com/review_alpha_industries_type-2_10-shot_magazine_p1.php
