View Full Version : New Gun Laws..does AZ worry?

Granted we have a very open door gun policy here in Arizona, but I am worried about some of the Tucson idiots putting pressure on Governor Woo-hoo and she jumps on the band wagon. She has been very gracious in the past with a lot of laws in regards to firearms. That being said though, she is not a fan of O-simba, and could very well throw in her own law blocking his stuff, or go the other direction and show everyone that being tough on laws like SB1070 was just the beginning. Then writes a few new laws here in AZ that could make the others look like full freedom. I dont think she would do that, but you never know.

Just curious on some of the other thoughts...is it time to move or do we stick with Woo-hoo and hope she comes through?

I’m holding out hope that old school AZ values stick it out. The upshot is we got the need for a concealed carry license done away with, that’s a big deal, that gives them a lot of “stuff” to roll back before we get any ware close to other states in this regard.

Besides, where else are you going to go? We are on the cutting edge in this regard and women here are at least 10x more attractive than women in any other comparable state on gun laws.

First off move to where? We have to have the best gun laws in the country. I cant think of any place that has it better. Second start writing your reps and let them know the Ruger form is sent to federal and state reps. There was SB1050 proposed today they had a mag limit snuck in there of 10 rounds. Be vigilant and proactive.

Moving would be a last resort, and that was me being overly sarcastic, and frustrated, my apologies.

I was not aware of 1050. Figures these guys would do something like that. reminds me of the speed cams big sis left us with. Dumb ass broad..

I do see McCain sticking up for us, but I am worried about Flake. My Brother lives down in Tucson. He is working for a company that is trying to mine in Green Valley. Never mind that the business would bring a ton of revenue to the city. Most of the people down there are fighting every step of the way. Tucson with Gabby and her hubby are all fired up, but I hope they stay smart about it.

Honestly if I ever did move, it would probably be to Alaska. Another part of the world, that seems a little forgotten. Plus, I bet Sarah makes a great moose stew...wearing nothing but an apron.

Flake will stand up.

I'd like to see Brewer introduce a bill similar to what Texas and Wyoming have.

Arizona is one of the very best states for gun owners and I'm happy to live here. However, political tides can turn very fast. We definitely have to stay vigilant.

I like to think Arizonans would be among the last people on the planet to give up their guns.

We have 3 sheriffs that I know of that will not enforce any infringment on the 2nd A. I really don't see that happening here. But no matter where you are, there will always be those looking for the shortest line to turn their guns in, if it came to it...

For sure, there is that segment of the population that will bow down and do whatever they're told. I know some like that, but I also know a good many who will stand strong -- who have a lifelong track record of standing strong -- through almost any circumstance.

OUT of OUR state, but awesome none the less. Granted, this had a similar thing that happened here in Arizona in the Tucson area a few months back. With a buy back program. I am seeing a future here...

The only thing lame about the Arizona law making bans unenforcible, is that it only targets guns/magazines made in the state.

That is a good and bad thing all rolled into one. There are some good manufacturers, but they are way over priced. Some of these guys after talking to them you would think they walk on water. Yes they make good stuff. Is it great stuff? I have no idea, but I didnt want to pay 399 for a lower that I have heard nothing about.

I like how despite the efforts of Giffords, they still moved forward with the gun bills.

Lots of arguing, and all of a sudden I am a fan of this guy Shooter..

The bills were prompted by President Barack Obama’s push to reinstate an assault weapons ban and ban high-capacity magazines in the wake of December’s school shooting in Connecticut.

Rep. Eddie Ableser, D-Tempe, set off the fireworks with his sharp questioning of principal bill sponsor Sen. Kelli Ward, R-Lake Havasu City, who said “basically it is a statement because I am very impassioned about Arizona state rights.

“I believe the federal government has taken liberties that they are not at liberty to take, especially in encroaching on our Second Amendment rights,” Ward said.

Ableser called the bill a waste of time and asked exactly how a local law enforcement officer was going to stop a federal agent from enforcing the law.

That’s prompted Shooter to interrupt.

“The country is called the United States, it’s not called the federal government,” Shooter said. “The states are sovereign.”

The debate in the committee room echoed similar ones in several statehouses. Opponents of more federal gun control have introduced nearly identical bills in states including Wyoming, where a bill served as a template for the one introduced here. They’ve been prompted by worries among some conservatives that Obama may take executive action to ban some weapons.

Our ray of sunshine! Hopefully others willl jump on with us and WY.

This craziness needs to end...

Just when I thought stupidity has hit its low, people get shovels and begin to dig.

Sun Devil lowers are mediocre. I know plenty of people who have had out of spec ones that were damaged when installing the LPK.

Sun Devil lowers are complete trash. I remember eyeing one up at Pistol Parlour when the last Tard Panic was going on.

Wouldn't take one of those for free. GARBAGE.

If pictures were accurate, they look ok on the web site..they do have p-mags but I have been 2 weeks in trying to set an appointment just to go purchase a couple. I see them as making it because of the tard panic, but once it dies off, so will they.

it is..well.. Frustrating...why would you limit your customers to appointment only? I would think, "hey...fire marshal says I can fit 200 people in here..lets see if we can pack in the tards, get them buying guns and licking windows! "

People were willing to pay MORE for an INFERIOR product before any of the panics.

I can understand the sensitivity of this, but really?

Also, because of our proximity...

My brother lives outside of Tucson in a small community in Green Valley. He is always telling me of the border agents flying around on quads and other vehicles trying to stop illegals. I see a couple of angles here with the link below. One, they can eventually take back their country. Two, they are all armed when they cross.
