Just received a Benelli Super BE II back from C-Rums with welded lifter. YeeHah!

Put the thing together and the Bolt Catch Button would not pop out or work properly....... upon inspection I noticed the Carrier Latch had a crack and bend in it, WTF?

The gun had just gone on a couple of 3 day duck hunting trips and shot (not as much as it should have).

I guess I am asking does this part break often? I thought this was a stamped part, but the crack looks MIM (I am no expert on stampings/MIM).

Is there a "better" version of this part?

Is it just a knock out the roll pin and replace... easy or more to it?

Thanks!

Never seen that before myself, first time I've heard of it. That looks like a call to Benelli is in order.

I'm wondering if the welding/excessive heat had anything to do with that.

However, if you're looking to replace it on your own, the procedure is easy. I've replaced my m4's stock bolt release with gg&g's bolt release pad (it looks like you have something similar). It came with an additional carrier latch and instructions.

From my recollection, the only detail to keep in mind is to drive the pin from the bottom-up. That is, start on the lifter's end and drive the pin up towards the chamber's end. 15 min, tops.

I hope this helps

It is a stamped piece. Pretty simple to replace. $30 (carrier latch & pin) plus shipping from Brownell's. A slave pin will speed installation.

Thanks. It was a bit disheartening the very "moment" the gun was becoming a HD/Tac Shottie it broke:eek:

I had read on the errornet that Benelli put better parts in the Military versions of the M4 and thought maybe there were some better parts out there than the commercial civie gun parts that might work.

Did you call Benelli? Maybe they'll comp it out on warranty, might be worth a try.
