Okay fellow Southerners. I have had a Nook color for two years now and am happy with it for the most part. I do a lot of ebook reading but not necessary buy from Barnes & Noble.

I've been using the nook more for email and internet access lately and decided to upgrade to the Nook HD for the faster browser and better media support. Than I learned about the google Nexus 7. Its a faster processor, better battery, supports flash, and access to google apps which is far better than B&N apps. It appears that I can get a B&N app for the nexus so my ebooks will still be good.

The Nook HD has an excellent display, but there's less to do with it because of B&N's limited app selection, I would appreciate the extra pixels on the ereader side but it wont make much difference for email and browsing. For everything else, though, it's hard to pick the Nook HD over the Nexus 7. For the same starting price, Google and Asus give you comparable hardware and much better software.

Anyone have any experience with either or both and can help me pick?
