Does the Magpul 870 stock come with the necessary stock bolt to mount it? Is it any different (length, thread pitch, etc?) than an standard 870 wood stock bolt?

Length? Yes, that's different but it's the same thread pitch (has to be...) as the OEM bolt.

You can adjust the length of the stock with the magpul. Making it shorter than factory 870 stock length.

True but this has nothing to do with the bolt. Its a short bolt that you screw in through an access on top of the stock near the receiver and then plug with the rubber thumb rest.

I love my Magpul SGA stock and forearm.

It comes with the necessary bolt, which is the same pitch, just shorter.

Also, I really enjoy the fact that the local Magpul rep has SPQR476 as his screen name lol. Yay history geeks.

Ok, the western roman empire was taken over by the barbarians in 476 AD, SPRQ is the roman senate. I'm missing something. Thread derail.

I'm going to pick up a set of the 870 furniture for my 870 express. I like a short LOP and a high cheek weld. Looks like a good way to do it. I'm thinking FDE.

You know what they say about history . . . in this case, the history of a republic of free people. It's not what happened in 476 that I worry about.

In any case, you won't be disappointed with the Magpul furniture. It's great.
