View Full Version : Glock 26 recoil assembly issue?

A friend of mine sent me pics/vids of his new 26 that appears to have some issues. I'm not an expert on the dual-rate recoil assembly but am pretty sure that it shouldn't be popping out of the end of the slide like that!

Thoughts?

That is normal. May seem weird if you have never seen a dual recoil spring set up.

That Glock looks just like it should...

It's fine. The RSA will protrude slightly, and the front lug may overhang the dustcover a small amount in some. It's normal manufacturing tolerances.

Also note... When you operate the gun artificially slow like in the video, you will often produce hangs, delays, and things that make you go "hmmm." If it starts to hang or delay with normal, vigorous operation of the slide in dry and live fire, then you may have an issue.

Mine did that the first time I cleaned it right after I purchased it. Hasn't had happened since then.

I cant see the video, but the picture looks normal.

I've run into a strange issue too, that doesn't effect function, but its an issue upon fieldstrip.

Sometimes when I fieldstrip the gun, the RSA binds up on the inner portion of the dustcover. It unseats itself, & drags along the frame.

My frame is getting marred up pretty bad when this happens. However the pistol shoots great. This happen to any of you guys too?

The RSA in mine, brand new, unseats as soon as it's reassembled.
I posted about it last week and was told it's pretty much normal - called Glock and was told the same thing.

Seems like crappy engineering, but it (30SF) is wonderfully accurate, so I'm gonna shoot it 'til it wears thru or sumpin'. :D
