Since these specs are so frequently asked for around here, and I work for a company that has the tools to measure such things, I went and checked:

16" DD LW carbine-gas barrel:

0.059" gas port dia.

One nice feature is that the barrel is 0.75" right behind the gas block/FSB so that a standard handguard cap will fit. The barrel is 0.625" dia from the chamber until the rise slightly before the FSB. After the FSB, it is smaller than 0.625", so a true "pencil" barrel.

Hope this helps someone. I know I was personally concerned about trying to find a 0.625" handguard cap. Nice to know that DD had the foresight to make it 0.75".

Their LW is my favorite...has the material where it needs it...and it doesnt where it does not belong :)

Thanks for that. FYI a 14.5" LW midlength DD is .625 at the gas block seat. It will require the smaller HG cap. Just built one 2 days ago. ;)

I'm waiting on mine from DD as we speak. This will be my first LW barrel as my other AR is a 16 inch HBAR.
