Just wondering if this ware is normal?
I searched a bit but figured this would be better.

mine does that too. i put a little grease (not oil) on it to help smooth things out.

What type of upper?

It's not catastrophic but I would lube it, also make sure you are pulling straight back and not pulling up-and-back.

Good grief. It's a piece of aluminum that rides in a track. It's going to wear. It could continue to wear like that for years and not fail.

I have 3 BCM charging handles and they all wear like that. No worries

DD upper.

Yep. Mine too. My BCM uppers are smooth as silk. My DD uppers seem to have a much more abrasive coating inside. So far its had zero effect on functionality.

For whatever reason.. that's normal. Those Gunfighters have very hit and miss Anodizing jobs.

If you're not experiencing any malfunctions and you don't feel the charging handle 'hanging up' while you're using it, don't worry about it.

The charging handle on my DDM4V7 is practically bare aluminum on the right side from rubbing against the right side of the upper. The DD. guys said it was a non issue so I just ignore it. If it screws up I'll put the vaunted DD customer service to the test.

I have a BCM ch and the stock ch on my DD's and they both have the same marks on top and on the right side but I think it is because sometimes I might pull to much on the right side when charging my gun. I was told it is a non issue and almost all handles will have wear on them. I was just told to make sure the ch is lubed up good.

It's cute. I remember when that was all the wear my charging handles had....

It's been my experience with charging handles in general. BCM Gunfighters, LMT, Colt, Daniel Defense....

The Gunfighters give off that burnt Anodizing smell if you cycle them real fast... They settle in after a while, and I don't care much.... they just seem to have a different finish than other CHs.
