This will either take off, or flop.

Kind of a neat design.

Interesting.....but there is no damn 22LR ammo anywhere so even if the thing is great....what are we going to run through the thing?

Weird isn't it? I don't like the fact you have to get you fingers in front of the muzzle to charge it. There's a rail that you buy to attach it to an AR or M4. Do not see the purpose of that.

But $200. I can tolerate a lot more silly when these companies don't think that their new unproven product is worth the same as a quality AR. Using 10/22 magazines was smart.

I applaud them for thinking outside of the box...I doubt the damn thing comes in one.

I have no use for it personally.

Okay so its a little plastic .22LR for $199.

I like that people are coming out with new designs but the marketing is trash and the gun offers little outside of the fact that it's different.

I think it's a bullpup pistol.... Certainly being marketed towards those that were considering a BB gun though.

Underneath a SCAR or M4? Seriously?

I have a vision of a bunch of guys in full battle gear hunkered down behind a wall, waiting for the SDP (Squad Designated Peashooter) to come up to take out the guard squirrel between them and the objective.

This is an interview with the inventor at SHOT.

http://youtu.be/a9jVktnBI-Y

Seems like a really genuinely nice guy, and I wish him the best. He won't get my cash, but nonetheless. Honestly with some of the retarded ergos and sketchy charging out of the way, I bet he could make it into something that would be pretty cool.

02-06-13, 11:19
That was classic.

Yeah from the second I saw the video all I can think of was, why? Then I saw the Army guy and I thought thats why us Jar Heads cant wear cammies out in town...so we arent inadvertenly advertising for some stupid shit...

Kinda looks interesting but not worth my money!

It of course could be the pistol that is dropped behind enemy lines for us to use after all of our other guns are confiscated. Kind of like the Liberator pistol from WW2.

EPIC sig line material!!!

Oh wow, yeah man. Feel free to use it. I'm honored.

This Zip gun IS cool IMO, I hope the guy is successful.

At $200 it is a cool novelty. I want to see a design change to the charging system before I'd buy it though. Like a folding lever type handle that collapses in a recess on the left side of the frame & mates flush. It could be spring loaded so you press in & it pivots out. Once charged it snaps back into the slot automatically.

RHINOWSO
02-06-13, 20:15
I like the guys selling point that you can "climb all over the gun" since it has no slide...

That'll work great until a new shooter moves to something else that DOES has a slide... like almost every other semi auto handgun out there?

DiabhailGadhar
02-06-13, 20:28
so they had one for sale at the PX today and I couldn't even bring myself to pick it up and look at it.

Yeah I had to tell the lady that today at the PX she told someone they could put it on the bottom rail of their AR and I said "I wouldnt do that" to the gentlemen you would be making an SBR..correct me if I'm wrong.

You were correct, if you watch the SHOT video, the designer informs that you need a tax stamp. As others here feel, I also can't envision a usage to merit the money & effort of mounting this thing.

Wait...........

Voila!

CCI Mini Mag Shotshells. One hell of a master key.

I think when the chin stock (http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2012/09/03/a-chin-stock-for-ar-15-no-shoulder-needed/) for this comes out, they'll fly off the shelves.

Maybe just clearing the controls / sharp edges away from the charging handle? Not the first time I've seen an EOTech in that position on a SCAR, as they're "monolithic" in a sense.

Yo dawg, heard you like shooting... so we put a gun on your gun!

That one video had the word "ZIP!" for every second the video was long...

Any company that markets a .22 using the word "Mission" anywhere in its advertisement is absolutely ridiculous.

If it was marketed as the toy it is, then I'd be more inclined to see what the fuss is about.

I am going to 'fess up and admit that when I see stuff like this I think "Neat, I want one."

I have no idea why.

Pretty smart to use 10/22 mags.

I am not going to get one. I have made some great choices and buys over the years.

But, on the other hand...
in 1987 I thought a .44 DE was a good idea (great hog gun!)
in 1992 I thought a .25 ACP Lorcin was a good idea (you can hide it anywhere!)
in 1998 I thought a Century Arms HK91 clone with a railed aluminum FA receiver was a great idea (I always wanted a HK 91 and you don't need the funky scope mount for this!)

Just watched another review on youtube, I don't know why, but it just occured to me that this thing is a lot larger than I had thought originally.

It looks just as wide as a Glock 26, & bigger even. I didn't realise how big it was.

Well the windowlickers needed a new gun since the Taurus Judge has been out for a while. Looks like this will be it...are they publishing articles in every issue of American Handgunner along with 5 ads per mag yet?

This gun jammed, multiple times, during SHOT.

Ergos are not practical, gun design isn't practical. The goal might have been.

I shoot a lot of 5.7x28mm platforms, and in competition. I know what they are capable of, because I have tested them personally against mediums backed by clay. I never feel a need to defend the platform, nor allocate time to do such.

Here are some pictures I just posted;
