What are everyone's favorite combinations for aftermarket sights on the HK45c?

I'd like to find something that would give me a 6 o'clock hold, but it seems like my options are pretty limited. Night sights are not important to me. I have a set of Defoor Ameriglo sights on my Sig P226, and I would like to find something similar to those.

I've done some searches on this, and it seems like Heinies come the closest to what I want. Has anyone tried anything else with success? I do not want 3 dot sights, so mepros and trijicons are nonstarters for me.

Have you tried just painting the rear sight black? On my first Hk45c I got tooltech to drill out the front sight and install a tritium bulb and I blacked out the rears. This time I am jsut blacking out the rears. The front glow in the dark sight is fine for me but I hate the rears.

Most HK guys that want non 3 dots seem to get hienies....they seem to work and seem to be GTG. I would say just get them.

The dots are not the only thing I don't like. I would like to ditch the fat front sight, too. Ideally I'd like a black set with the same dimensions as the Defoor Ameriglo sights, but I don't see anything like that available.

That is a good suggestion, though. I'll try blacking out the sights and see if it's better before I drop $150 or so on Heinies.

The Heinie sights that I am aware of are two-dot sights. They are my preference. I like them a lot. Call Heinie and they will give you the low-down regarding what POA / POI you want.

For my latest H&K (45 compact), I am with Greg on just sticking with the factory sights. I usually black out the rear as well. If this gun was to get more carry time, I would consider getting some more Heinies.

Try Dawson Precision - http://www.dawsonprecision.com/Home.jsp?refresh=true

Look under P30 as well as HK45 - Most P30 and 45C sights are interchangeable.

For those with aging eyes Trijicon is now offering HD sights for the HK45C / P30.

Have these on both HK45 and P30. I wouldn't have anything else.

A 10-8 rear with Dawson tritium front works fantastically on my P30. The Dawson has a white ring around the tritium which stands out very nicely in the rear u-notch.

Excellent sights! Have a number of their sights on my Glocks and they are getting installed at Gray Guns on my Hk 45 and 45C. After shooting with fiber optic everything else kind of sucks for precision shooting.

After trying the factory sights, the Mepros, and Trijicons, I tried the Heinies and have never looked back. These have been the most accurate and easiest to pick up. Because of my age, I started putting some bright orange nail polish on the front sight (obviously not covering up the night sight lamp) and they are about perfect now for me.

Another vote for the 10-8 rear. Offhand I'm going to guess I got my tritium front from Dawson. I think 10-8 is looking to offer a tritium front sight option for the HK45 and 45c, I'm not sure where they are at currently. Though I know you stated tritium isn't as important to you maybe they will make a blank sight as well.

Anyway, if you like the heinie idea go for it but the blank rear from 10-8 sounds more like the Defoor setup you have on your 226.

Best wishes.

Trijicon is now releasing a version of their HD sights for the HK. Those are what I'll be using.
