This Colt is a HBAR Match Target. Detachable carry handle.
Serial Number CCH0105...

It has a neutered carrier and seems to be Colt??, the Bolt is MP tested and has the infamous C

Other question. I have seen a lot of HBAR's. Is it rare to have a detachable carry handle?

Lets hear it Los Pony aficionado 's

Just adding in 'guessed at' digits for the ones past the 5, this thingy (http://www.coltsmfg.com/CustomerServices/SerialNumberLookup.aspx) says 1997 MT6700, Match Target, Competition H-Bar. BiggerHammer (http://www.biggerhammer.net/ar15/ar15serial.html) seems to agree, more or less. (It says 1998...)

PB, I have the 16" version called the Match Target Competition HBAR II (6731). It too has the removable carry handle.

Larry,

send me a pick on email, thanks. What is the II version, how is it different?

Email sent. The only difference I'm able to find is barrel length. How's your trigger, since mine is about the worst trigger I've ever felt on an AR?

My trigger was about 5.5lbs, and not bad. I had to weigh it because I thought, not too bad.

Yep, I'm not saying my trigger is the norm for Colt ARs, just that it is very gritty, stagey and heavy. The trigger on our 901 is better, by a little, but it got replaced with an ALG ACT. Major improvement!
