Well, I've been working towards having SBR SCARs... My Form 1 was approved right after the holidays and I sent my SCAR 16 barrel to Marvin Pitts to cut to 10.5" and install the AAC 51T Blackout Flash Hider / Suppressor mount... I hadn't heard anything other than he had received the package a couple of weeks ago...

Checking my mail at the Post Office today I see a package notification... As I had some orders for things, as well as the kids having birthdays coming soon, I didn't think anything of it. However one package had this inside...

It was painful waiting to get home, but as soon as I did I completed my SCAR 16 SBR build in about 3 minutes...

Only thing left to do is tune the gas port at the range, re zero the weapon sights, get the Vickers sling on it, and figure out a light.

This made my whole week!!!

Sweet looking rifle! I'm pretty SCAR ignorant. How does one tune the gas port?

There are different sized parts, you basically get a couple around the size you need (there are typical ports for a specific rifle length), you put one in and trial and error it until the weapon operated properly / locks after the last round and isn't over-gassed.

I'm waiting on those, I should have them this week.

OK, so you want the goldilocks amout of gas. Not too much, not too little, but just right. Sure would like to see a video of that rifle being shot.

Where do you get those different sized parts??

Very cool rifle...considering the same. Shooting update when you can would be great!

I bought mine from HHD, but Midwest gun works and Stryker Enterprises have them as well.

Probably be a week or two before I get to shoot it, we'll see and I'll update with a range report.

Never been a big fan of the SCAR, but I can appreciate your excitement. If nothing else, it does look pretty badass. Congrats.
