So I recently purchased an FN FNX 45, and bought some ammo before it came in. I received my order today and I accidentally choose a box of magtech .45auto+p first defense. Would the .45 auto+p be ok to put through this gun.

Thanks for the help

+p is ok by default with modern firearms but some manufacturers caution a limited amount to lessen wear and tear. If there is a caution for yours it will be in the owner's manual.

After quickly examining my FNX manual, I didn't notice anything about using or not using +p ammo. There is a reference about using SAAMI approved ammo on page 9. Since +p ammo is a designation created by SAAMI, I would say it's safe to fire that type of ammo through the pistol.

Like DanjojoUSMC already mentioned, modern service/duty handguns are typically capable of safely firing +p ammo with no catastrophic effect. I would expect no less from the FNX 45. The use of +p ammo, however, does accelerate wear, regardless of handgun, more quickly compared to standard pressure ammo.

With all of that said, 1 box of 50rds isn't going to hurt the gun.

Your gun will be fine.
