I didn't see any mention of them in the SHOT forum. Any news yet?

Last I saw they were shipping like 2-3 products from the 2012 SHOT show. I would not hold my breath for anything new from them for awhile. And freedom group is for sale, so who knows what that could mean for the divisions?

I was waiting on the SR7 but decided to go surefire socom instead. The SR7 is still vaporware and the socom which has already been military tested and approved is at my dealer and the paperwork has been filed.

Did the same thing. Have 2 Socom 762 suppressors on order.

:D Good move.

I already got my mits on the 556 (posted a short video in the Socom thread), it's pretty nice, although I still need to weight the mount just too see what that weighs.

My Socom762 just got to my dealer as well, so maybe in a couple weeks I'll run up there and get my hands on that as well!

Can you use the 7.62 Surefires on 5.56 mounts? I want to spread the love around to my other guns.

Yes, of course. AFAIK, KAC is the only company who's 762 cans do not fit on 556 mounts.

What I have not been able to test is if a SOCOM556 can fits on a SOCOM762 mount.

Out of curiosity, why would one try to mount a 5.56 can on a 7.62 mount?

To see just how closely I need to watch the assholes I go shooting with.

Understood. I am in a very defensive mindset on any hot or cold style range. My favorite place is a buddies backyard where we can shoot steel at 600yds. You have to trust who you are shooting with.
