Any good recs on a manual or book (preferably digital but I don't mind a book, digital is instant gratification and doesn't take up anymore space) on building ARs? I looked online but I'd rather ask y'all instead of go by the customer reviews.

I'm interested in building one from the ground up. I know people say to start with a complete lower or upper but I want to at least build my lower.

Also I will take recommendations on what parts to use, or y'all can just reply with what you have in your custom build.

Currently have a Colt LE6940 with some Magpul furniture (OD Green) and a Nikon m223 3-12x42 BDC scope. I want to use this lower for my first (and hopefully not only) SBR (starting the process this month). I will then put this upper on either a lower I build or a complete lower for long range and have the SBR for CQB/home defense complete with Holographic sight and what not.

Edit: I tried searching for manuals or books but the most recent threads didn't seem to be asking what I'm asking for. I'm sure there are tons of "give me recommendations for an AR build" threads though.

When I attended armorer school years ago, we were issued a paper bound manual that has served me well. It has plenty of illustrations and technical data. I don't know if you can find it on CD.

The book is marked:

ARMY TM 9-1005-319-23&P
AIR FORCE TO 11W3-5-5-42
NAVY SW370-BU-MMI-010

If you google the Army Tech Manual number you will find manuals for sale on Amazon, E-Bay, etc. There are a few links to PDF files you can download as well.
