I went through the Alias and RB1 sites to look up courses in VA this year and saw there were several. I'll post the links when I get to my pc, but is anyone else here planning on attending any? I'd like to take as many as my budget and schedule will allow, but we'll see how that turns out. My biggest priority is the LAV Home Defense course in Oct. So, anyone have anything else they're planning on?

Was looking at some of the Vickers classes in VA Beach this upcoming spring and summer. Funds depending of course.

You guys may be good people to ask... Do you know of any basic carbine classes around NoVA or the Shenandoah valley? I have my girlfriend shooting now, I think doing a class together would be both fun and extremely helpful.

Thanks!

Check the following sites. I just posted a bunch above your post, but they may or may not be what you're looking for.

ETA - The facility in High View, WV would probably be your best bet in the NOVA area.

Awesome, thank you. I see Vickers classes in NC and Pittsburgh which are both doable, looks like we'd need to book early though

Minuteman Rifle, with John Murphy of FPF Training, is an excellent entry-level/basic class, as well as a good fundamentals class in which a more experienced shooter can knock off some rust. He's delightfully profane.... ;)

One thing with EVTC.....bring your munchies with you. Going off-site for lunch or whatever is a bad plan.

If NC is doable, consider also Defensive Concepts North Carolina: http://www.defensiveconceptsnc.com/

Depends what yall are in the market for. National Shooters in Arlington, Va has a solid program with a low round count (200rnds) for anyone with limited firearms experience or looking for a refresher.

They also reviewed one of FPF trainings classes:

way late to this thread, but don't forget that Acadami is just across the border in NC; an easy drive from Hampton Roads.

I'm pretty late to this discussion too, but I was wondering if anyone in NoVA has experience with TKA LLC, the training company that is apparently partnered with the NRA Range. A friend and I are considering taking their one-hour one-on-one instruction session that they offer on Tuesday evenings to try to address a few issues with our pistol technique, and I'm totally willing to pay $50 if it's quality instruction that will help me work out some issues:

Personalized One-on-One Instruction (http://tkallc.com/event/personalized-one-on-one-instruction-november-12-2013/)

Thanks,

+1. FPF is a solid option.
