I know this subject has been beat to death, but has this issue been resolved in current M&P9 pistols? I'm looking at buying one, but if it hasn't been fixed by S&W, I'll just spend my money elsewhere. I went thru the same thing a little over a month ago and was told I had about a 60% chance of getting an accurate one. I just find that unacceptable, is it any better now?

They've started using a new barrel twist that's considerably faster. This started in November or December. While the few I've handled and one new me I own have all exhibited acceptable accuracy at distance, I'd still be cautious of lock up. While the new twist rate seems to allow more ammo options, the lock up is the contributing factor for accuracy issues. The ones I've handled we're good to go.

Now, I wouldn't call it good yet as not enough time has passed. But, with the new twist rate and improved trigger, I'd say it's a good start and may prove to be "fixed" over time.
