Here are my two new builds. I was lucky enough to get all this stuff before the crazyness kicked in. Just finally had time to assemble everything this last weekend. Rifles are identicle sans barrels. I built one as a precision rig and one as a bullet hose.

Specs are as follows:

MEGA arms forged upper and lower recievers
BCM BCG's
BCM CH's MOD 4
PSA STR lower build kits w\c-buffer
Timney 4lb skeletonized triggers
MOE + Grips
MOE trigger guards
Noveske QD endplates
13.5" Noveske NSR rails

barrel on black rifle is a DD 16" s2w w/factory pinned low pro gas block and basic A2 flash hider for now

barrel on green rifle is a Noveske recon with basic A2 flash hider for now

Nice looking builds and nice view. How do they shoot?

I just function tested my recent build that included a 16" recon style barrel with a Noveske NSR 13.5 tube and it shot and handled like a dream. Only thing I think I'm going to change is the muzzle device on mine as I had an AAC 51T Blackout and I'd like something to control muzzle rise a little better.

MEGA pics too! lol! Nice place BTW.
What optics are you planning on running on both?

Nice guns, but to be honest I found myself gazing at the background more than the foreground. Looks like a bitchin' piece of real estate.

Really depends what type of shooting you'll be doing and out to what distances. I can see why you would opt for variable powered ones on both from the pics of your place. Seems like you have your house at the top of a small hill on a laaarge property. If it were me though, a Micro would probably be it for the DD. looking at it as a general purpose/ house gun. For the recon, i dont have a lot of experience beyond a 1-4 so i think i'll leave the recommendations to someone with more hands on time with higher powered ones.

Nice rifles! Did you get the 16" S2W from a retailer or direct from DD?

Was curious if you've got some range time with the Daniel Defense barrel and if so, how are you liking it? That's the barrel I've been planning on using when Rainier gets them back in stock.

Piked one up from Rainer a while back as well, just waiting on a SMR from UPS to get here to finish up. Haven't heard to many range reports regarding the S2W but based off the design it sounds promising. I picked up a Vortex PST 1-4 for the build, it's a great optic for the price. Nice rifles!

Those are two beautiful rifles. Mega is the heart of my SBR, and you were wise to have chosen that level of quality for your builds. Fanboy verbiage I guess I'm guilty.

Your home is worth defending as well.

there are other brands out there with cooler rollmarks. they may be equal in quality. but nothing is better in quality than MEGA. you wont be dissappointed.

Sorry been busy lately. Everything finally came in and the rifle is assembled. I will be at the range early next week helping out with quals and will be breaking it in. My aimpoint which was on my duty gun took a dump and is headed off to the factory for service so after breaking in the fun gun ill be mounting the Vortex on the duty rifle. I've never used a 1-4 and purchased it to switch things up since I have several H1's and a comp m4s on other guns. I'll do a write up next week since I've had numerous inquiries on the S2W barrel and vortex combination from co workers and buddies.

The 1-4 Viper PST is a great optic for the price. I've used it in 3gun matches and taken it out to 550yds. I think it has the best reticle design out of any optic in the price range. The reticle lends itself very well to shooting closer targets on the move, and having the MOA/MRAD subtensions instead of the more common faux-BDC is a great feature too.

One caveat though, please for the love of god get the one with capped turrets. Exposed turrets are just bad juju for an optic with a true 1x on the bottom end, because chances are you're going to be running around with it and bumping into stuff.

If it were me I'd put a nice 1-4 or 1-6 on the Noveske and a dot on the DD. :) If you buy a budget optic now (like the Viper PST), you can always upgrade later to a higher end optic like a 1-6 Leupold Mark 6, Vortex Razor Gen 2, or SWFA, all of which are awesome optics without getting into Swarovski or S&B territory in price.

(Full disclosure - I'm sponsored by Vortex.)

I just came across this and I laughed so hard I almost pissed my shorts. Good one. Looks to me like you might want to be careful. That rifle is pointed in a pretty bad spot. Looks like where my wife would like to point her rifle at me.
