Buffer sizes

I know the AR platform buffer tubes come in Commercial and Mil spec sizes. Do the buffers themselves come in different sizes (diameters) or are they all the same regardless of whether they're in a mil spec or Comm. tube?

There's carbine, rifle and A5.

The carbine will work in commercial and regular tubes, the OD of the tube is different.

Rifle buffers need a rifle extension, the A5 uses a proprietary extension made by VLTOR.
