Sorry - needed to vent. I have been chomping at the bit for an M&P 45. I have resisted buying a .40 and kept my patience for a .45ACP The funny, (not haha funny) thing is that they're made 40-miles from my front door and the subjects in Massachusetts have been unable to obtain them until they pass safety muster with the Attorney General. Yesterday, they were released for sale - today they've been recalled, (some AG paperwork nonsense). As much as I love my home and life in the mountains, I really am considering a move to a free-state...I'm burning out...Rant over....Anyone got pics?

Mark,
It is probably going to drive you to the edge but, I am a subject of MA and I was at the range shooting my new (non recalled) M&P .45 today. I have had it for about two months. I paid $410 for it and got three mags and night sites, o yeah its got a 6.5 lb trigger pull as well.

I am green with envy, but must be patient, (or move). The "nice" thing about the .45 "Masshole Version", is it also has the 6.5lb trigger pull - it was a trade-off with the AG by S&W for adding a thumb safety. I know the M&P may have it's detractors, but I spent an afternoon and my mileage check with one at Smith and Wesson and absolutely love it. I sold my G22 to fund it's ultimate purchase and must now just be patient.

My M&P45 is one of the best .45's I've ever shot. If you don't want to move to get one...it's worth the wait! ;)

Thanks - it's cheaper to wait it out, then move. After 10-years with my Glock 22 and within the first 10-minutes on the range at S&W with the M&P 45, it was easy to let the Glock go. It felt like Smith and Wesson made this gun specifically for me. I know that sounds cheesy, but after shooting many a .45, this one feels sublime....

Thanks - that was like my relationship - it hurts and makes me happy at the same time... :D I can't wait until my day arrives! I 'm going for all black, but I must admit - that FDE looks pretty neat...

I hate to rub salt in an open wound, but a very respected industry professional recently told me that he fully recommends that M&P 45ACP as the best out of the box 45ACP. And he was wearing his 1911 at the time he was showing off his M&P!

I've spent years looking for the perfect .45 ACP. I've had and still have 1911's and liked them. I bought a used Glock 22 on a whim about 10-years ago and though I liked it as well, it was not at al level to buy a G21. I tried Sig, Ruger, XD's and beyond - none of them did it for me. The first time I held an M&P 45 it felt like home in my hands. The first pull of the trigger brought on a grin that remained until the last round was fired. I love this gun. I've been patient this long - what's a little more time? Thanks for posting your pics - truly inspiring - keep em coming!

Would have only been 2 weeks, if not for the finish.

GREAT guy to work with...and very reasonable.
