So Lowspeed Highdrag's post about travel pictures caused me to go through some of my old photos on my computer. I found a few pictures of a great car I had years ago but sold. Looking back, I wish I still had it...it was a 1989 Porsche 944. Dark blue with white leather and linen interior. Plenty of power and it handled like it was on rails.

Any cars you wish you still had?

Being 27, I've only owned a few vehicles to date, none of which I ever want to see again:

• 1989 Toyota Camry
• 1998 Ford Escort Wagon
• 2007 Ford Focus ST (leased)
• 2006 Jeep Liberty 4x4
And now: • 2011 Jeep Liberty 4x4

I do miss the Focus every now and then, not because it was a good car, but because it had a manual and it got way better mpgs than my Jeep gets. Jeeps are not sporty or fun until you leave the concrete jungle. (Which is where I spend 95%+ of my time)

Sooo glad this quality site is taking rejects from TOS that feel the need to turn it into TOS to feel more at home by lowering the intelligence quotient of every thread they participate in. Kind of reminds me of Californians ruining Colorado in that respect.

I had a 1980 F-100 1/2 ton pickup that was my "Conestoga Wagon" when I headed West to start a better life in Oregon. It was just a base model with that big inline six engine. I could open the hood, climb into the engine compartment and do all the maintenance. Plenty of room, and everything was accessible. Yeah, I never should have sold it. :cray:

I'm still driving my first car every day. Cars are are very utilitarian objects to me, unlike guns.

Did you look me up on Arfcom? I signed up last year and have exactly zero posts.

Now, go outside, take a deep breath of fresh air, and repeat the following a few times: "Bitching at random people on the Internet is not a good outlet for my unhappiness"

My dad's toy but i wish it was still with the family. He's kind of hoarder and doesnt sell his toys much but, Somehow, he decided to sell this particular one in favor of a cj5 jeep. It was a 78 vw van/bus if i remember correctly. It was a light, olive green and really nothing special outside other than being pristine. the interior was where it stood out. All custom with wood paneling for the roof liner and door panels, same olive green as the exterior for carpet and dark green velvet seats -- which oddly, looked classy the way it was executed and suited the car well. its biggest highlight was that he took out the second row bench seats and replaced it with a wooden top bar, complete with a running faucet and black leather wrapped cabinet doors, set against the left side which didn't slide open.

Alas the poor Citizensoldier, his last two threads have been swiftly hijacked into oblivion.

If I had a picture of a car to post and help him out I would.

Nothing really special about the car, not high speed low drag but I would like to have it just because of all of the traveling.

I purchased it new at Kadena AFB in Okinawa, because I accepted delevery there they knocked of $3700.00 fromt the MSRP. I wasn't able to drive it too much, the JPs allowed me to run it about once a month off base. I shipped it to the CONUS via TMO, I was in Oki for four and a half years so shipping was free.

I did many swoops to Pittsburgh from Lejeune in the Mustang. Eventually I shipped it to Bangui; Central African Republic. I drive it down to the Pygmie Village in the Congo once. I ended up leaving the Mustang in Bangui when I PCS'd in October 94.

The first picture is it parked next to my Japanese car that I owned in Oki.

The second picture is at the Marine House in Bangui.

I've gone from two Corvettes and recently purchased my dream car, I know if I ever sell this I will regret it.

1985 Ferrari 308 GTS, a Euro spec model.

I have no pictures, I sure wish I did.

Jeep Waggoneer 1973, sporting the AMC 360 V8 and wood grain sides.

Promptly painted camo, lifted 4 inches, 33x12.50 BFG Mud Terrains, homemade "I" beam front bumper that housed a Warn 8274.

The original running gear was swapped for a Turbo 400 tranny, NP205 grind box and Chevy 12 bolt front (3.73) and a 14 bolt rear (4.10). The front spider gears were welded and the rear had a lock right. A piece of deer antler crown for the shift knob. Bow racks in the back side windows.

Damn thing was a tank, a hunting truck with out equal.

Pulled out many a stuck truck on Barbour County WMA, before the roads started being maintained.

Only vehicle I ever truly loved was my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. I regret selling that vehicle all the time.

This thing left me stranded on the side of the road more times than I care to count, but I loved it right up until the day it got towed to its new owner. Looking back now, I wish I still had it...

http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/1953_509835934623_8563_n.jpg

It started as a 1990 Wrangler. I lifted it 4", put on 33's, changed the engine, rebuilt the transmission (twice), rebuilt the t-case, it had about 4 different top and door configurations over the years. I also swapped the Wrangler hood and grille for CJ parts.

The first 200 were made at Audi and were a special run with nicer paint jobs and a bit lighter with some stuff being a bit different :)
I had serial #186
Great cars and were way better handling than 911 on the course :)

Agreed looking back the things i miss the most and should have
held onto were all TWO WHEELS.

I started out with a 1992 FXSTC swore i'd NEVER sell it..
BUT got an offer i couldn't refuse.. so i sold it.

Took that cash and bought my first Custom 04 BMC Chopper.

I LOVED the rear profile of this bike.

It had to raw power to shake your fillings in your teeth out but
i miss being able to roar through downtown setting car alarms off.

got in a bind and HAD TO sell it and to this day i miss it.

This 92 Acura Integra was a "sleeper" project I did years ago, ugly as sin and fast as hell. She "looked" bone stock except for the intercooler peeking out the front, which later I had anodized black  The looks on the faces of the defeated are burned into memory:p Wish I still had her.

Big turbo 02 Audi TT AWD is the one I miss most. Great MPG, lightning quick off the line, and the sounds of boost can't be beat IMO.

'02 GT

Certainly not the fastest car but was super fun to drive and got decent mileage with all the mods done.

Little over 400whp lightly modded, nothing too exciting...

Miss the reliability and fun of my wagon though, one of these days I will pick up another turbo Subaru to park next to my 4Runner.

Oh if we are posting bikes I have a few I wish I never sold. I miss supermoto a lot, the racing dried up so I got rid of them.

2009 Husqvarna SMR450. This thing was a rocket, I mean scary fast around a kart track.

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s73/hownowbrowncow_02/Bikes/IMAG0113.jpg

KTM 250 SXF in supermoto trim. Not as fast as the 450, but easier to ride. (I wasn't afraid this thing was gonna catapult me to the moon every time I cranked on the gas mid corner)

Great car with serious potential!

My brother had a 3000gt twin turbo, lots of mods, 1 bar of boost, etc, etc, one of the fastest cars Ive driven despite it being a "tank" and yes, also a PITA to work on. But that AWD off the line was like being shot from a slingshot. Sadly, that car was stolen and never recovered

No kidding. A couple of times on good launches (around 1.5 60 foots) I popped the dash speaker grills which flew into the back seat. Felt like getting drop kicked over the gates of hell according to my buddy. Too bad most of them are cheap enough to be owned by the mods before maintenance crowd.

Same thing happened to me in the Audi if I ever forgot to take the Escort detector off the windshield :). You can't beat boost!

Technically I still have it, but won't in a few months. I'll almost definitely be trading it in for a Jeep. I want the extra utility and storage space, but know I'm going to miss it. Handles like a champ.

I miss the ruggedness and utility of my 06 TJ. It kept breaking down, the top ripped, it had no speed, and I eventually got sick of it and traded it for a Dodge Ram.

Had a whole lot of fun as a young man in a new Jeep living in the Rockies. Tore that thing to hell. I drive an 09 SUbaru Forester now, and while very practical, it has no sex appeal for me.

Just for fun, I rented a Wrangler the last time I went to Hawaii. Top down on an island is too much fun....

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/glockfire/DSC02816_zps7bb342ce.jpg

I had this Ram while I was stationed out in CA. It was fun as hell driving a big truck around, but not very practical. I bought it knowing it was a short term vehicle for me, but it was fun to have.

If it weren't for that lower second set of headlights, it might look OK. But, combine the fugly looks with 4corner independent suspension and front wheel drive, and you got a "jeep" that bastardizes the brand.

Sorry. Back on topic . . .
