First Build

I am in the process of building my very first AR :smile: I started collecting parts toward the end of January because of all the anti-gun, gun ban talk, so I guess you could classify this as a "panic" build. Ragardless, I've wanted an AR for a long time now and this just gave me an excuse to finally build one!

I bought an Aero Precision stripped upper and lower receiver, PSA MOE lower parts kit, BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle, Magpul MOE stock, buffer tube and carbine spring, IKH SLAP plate (Link if anyone is interested http://www.ikickhippies.com/) and a generic forward assist/ejector port cover kit.

My Aero lower came with a threaded rear detent hole so I was able to use a 4-40 set screw to hold the spring and detent in there in case I ever want to change out sling plates or remove the stock for any reason

I have a Spikes ST-T2 Heavy Buffer on the way along with a YHM 14.5" barrel w/ pinned muzzle break, ST 9" BAR Rail and a Young Manufacturing BCG. Hopefully within the next month or so I'll be able to shoot it!!!

I'll update this thread as my parts come in and I am able to install them. Thanks for looking!

Looks like you're off to a good start.

Just a heads up, if you cut off one or two coils from the spring for the takedown pin detent, it will make it easier to push the pin in and out of the receiver.

That little set screw will add a bit of tension to the spring, making the spring slightly shorter will remedy this.

I forgot to take pictures of that part but I did cut a little off of the spring; the takedown pin slides in and out just as easily as the front.
