View Full Version : Looking for a muzzle device at least 2.75" in length
In order to comply with a law, I need a flashider or muzzle brake that is 2.75" or longer. The rifle that it is going on is a .22LR AR.
I am looking to spend as little $ as possible. So far my options seem to be:
BE Meyers flashider

GoGun Talon Muzzle Brake
http://www.gogunusa.com/brakes/talon.html
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Remember, this is for a .22LR so performance is not really a big deal. My focus is legality, unfortunately. What sort of negative effects would a brake like the Talon have on a .22?
Thanks!
Most, like those, will be $$$.
May be too long but good price: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/275983/dpms-flash-hider-5-1-2-length-1-2-28-thread-ar-15-matte
XM177 flash hider will be the cheapest way to go but its 5.5" long so it may be a little too big.
Here are some other cheap options i found while googling xm177 fh :http://www.model1sales.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=406
Then there's also the spikes fake can...

I would just take no.7 and cut it to length personally.
I think the new s&w fh is that long

I'm not getting a superbig flashider, so this is the only ther one that interests me so far. Got a link by chance?

You have to call s&w directly or talk to someone like Grant. Or ask someone with a magpul edition or vtac m&p to part with theirs

A guy by the name of "beavis612" removed his & replaced it with a different one. You could PM him, maybe he'd sell it.

The noveske kx3 is 2.78"
and costs $125... if you can find one.
the lowest cost one that the guys has suggested is that #7 from Model 1. Some hacksaw time and a little flat black stove paint and you'd be good to go.
I also had a "legal" issue, bought a 3 1/2" flash hider from Northern Gun Parts for $12.50 plus shipping. The service was quick, the black oxide finish was mediocre, not as nice as the rifle's, but it works and is very inexpensive.

What length is your barrel? Or have you not even purchased it yet?
