Police in the Mohawk Valley, N.Y., are searching for a suspect after shootings at two different locations left four people dead and at least two injured.

State police tell local media outlets two unidentified people were shot and killed Wednesday morning at a car wash in the village of Herkimer and two others were killed in a barber shop in the village of Mohawk, about 65 miles east of Syracuse.

They say a total of six people were shot and the shooter used a long gun.

The Utica Observer-Dispatch reported that firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment building that is believed to be connected to the shooting. Police were also seen removing about six long guns from the building, but it is unclear if the guns belonged to the suspect.

Herkimer Village police would only say that there was a shooting and a manhunt. Herkimer County Community College and local schools are on lockdown.

Six people shot?

It's ok. He only has one more round. Right?...

Most of the guys in that neck of the woods only own Fudd guns. Very few have EBRs. The public ranges are uberghey with very slow firing being mandated by the RSO. My guess is the weapon will turn out to be a normal shotgun and the other long guns will not be EBRs.

Now they will have to explain how the AWB will stop guys with normal shotguns.

Several rifles and a cache of ammo were found inside Myers’ burned-out home.

per king Cuomo

Gov. Andrew Cuomo, in a press conference in Herkimer, called it "truly an inexplicable situation."

"There's no apparent motive to the best of our knowledge at this time to provoke these attacks," he said.

Its odd tho, when it is not an evil "assault" weapon used it is an inexplicable tragedy but if it was an AR the assailant would have somehow been transformed into a blood thirsty rampaging machine simply as a result merely possessing said evil weapon.

No. It's called stupid people do stupid shit. It happens all the time. The difference is that we live in the age of "instant information" and we have a liberal media that wants to demonize firearms and support the Nanny State.

The liberal media didn't just recently change their views about firearms. Instant information has been around alot longer than this administration. Stupid people doing stupid shit has been a phenomenon since the beging of time though.

The whole shit seems too convenient. You get an admin who seeks to disarm the country & coincidentally there are shootings every week.

frustration leads to anger, anger leads to aggression, aggression leads to violence.

When you have a Admin overtly seeking to eliminate or at the very least curb their rights and liberty it is inevitable that tensions will only continue to rise until something gives. Not saying that was case in this specific instance but just in general. The more the government pushes the more push back their going to receive which of course plays right into their scheme to change the perception of gun owners as being radical and dangerous.
