Hi everyone,

I have a question about an 8.2" Noveske 300 blackout barrel I recently purchased from Rainier Arms. The inside of the barrel extension, towards the bottom-right, has a white-ish look to it. It seems like it could be some residue from machining, but I'm not quite sure. It looks something like aluminum rust (I know it's steel, just giving a description). The left side looks fine, as can be seen in the pics below, and the bore seems to be okay. I can attempt to clean the spot, but I figured I'd ask for some advice first. I purchased a 10.2" barrel a few months ago and didn't have this problem or with any other AR barrel I've purchased. Has anyone else ever had this "issue?"

Also, when I unpackaged the barrel, the Noveske warning and logo seals were broken. Does Rainier Arms typically unwrap the barrels to inspect them or something? Seems odd that they would have let the barrel ship with this big white mark in the extension, unless, of course, they didn't find it to be an issue.
