Btw the judge told him he need to be at home from 9 pm to 7 am, no alcohol, stay away from schools and parks, no deadly weapons etcccc blah blah blah. Who the hell this judge thinks this guy is? A baby? You honor, as you can see this guy didn't give a **** about your rules.

The conditions Baxter set for Renz’s release included that he allow federal probation officers to visit him at any time of day, that he not possess any deadly weapon, that he stay away from places where children under 18 congregate, including schools, parks and arcades, and that he avoid unsupervised direct contact with children.

He was required to not use a computer for any reason but work, surrender his passport and not travel outside of Upstate New York, refrain from excessive use of alcohol, allow electronic monitoring of him, and be at home from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. every day.

Sounds a lot like what used to happen to my friends in High School when they did something to get "grounded."

I'm really pissed off reading that article. Wonder how much more coddling Renz will get by the government, the media and the ACLU types? How bad does this guy have to be before he's put out of our misery? How many more times will "just say no" to rape not work? How many more people, unarmed people will be killed by the predators among us before the people finally recognize that evil does walk on two feet and must be dealt with?

In the federal system, initial court contact is handled by a Magistrate Judge, who finds probable cause, after which the case is scheduled for trial and the case assigned to a District Court Judge, who handles all trial matters. During Initial Appearance, investigators from Pre-Trial Services interview the defendant and make a bond/detention recommendation to the Magistrate. A set of factors is used, based upon past criminal conduct or lack thereof, financial resources/employment, type of crime, etc. Added to that, the Assistant U.S. Attorney and the defense counsel can and do argue before the Magistrate for and against bail, restrictions, etc. Lacking prior criminal history, possession and distribution of child pornography are considered "non touching", low risk offenses by Pre-Trial Services. Add in a liberal oriented magistrate and you end up with a low bond and electronic monitoring. Now that he has violated the bond conditions, he's been remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal but that doesn't help his victims in this instance.
